WELCOME TO THE TOWN OF RICE LAKE!

The Town of Rice Lake is rural in character with a majority of the land devoted to a mixture of agriculture and forests.  
 
Residential and commercial development is located primarily on land with poor agricultural productivity, or is predominantly concentrated near the City of Rice Lake along the STH 48 corridor.  All new developments are planned and sited in order to consider water resources, forests, and productive farmland, and to reinforce the rural
character of the Town. 
 
The  Town of Rice  Lake  is  a desirable place to  live because of  its rural character, natural beauty,  and  proximity to regional  employment opportunities.    The community  values  its proximity to  educational  centers (schools,  colleges,   libraries,etc.), recreational  amenities, USH 53, and the City of Rice Lake.  Local leaders continue to work with adjoining towns, the City of Rice Lake, and Barron County to manage development and the delivery of services for the betterment of the region.

TOWN OF RICE LAKE

REQUEST FOR BIDS

The Town of Rice Lake is requesting bids for the following road work (Click on the Bid # below for Specs and forms):

Bid #1:  1 ¼” high dense base gravel:  to be delivered and spread on site, and bid on a per ton basis.   Approximately 1.0 miles, 22 ft wide and 3 inches thick.

Bid #2:  Pulverize:  Approximately 1.0 miles, 22 feet wide

Bid #3:  Crackfill:  Approximately 1.27 miles, 22 feet wide

Bid #4:  Sealcoat:  Approximately 1.39 miles, 22 feet wide

Bid #5:  Saw & Seal:   Approximately .80 miles, 22 feet wide

Bid #6:  Base 2 compaction gravel delivered (priced per ton)

Bid #7:  Base 2 compaction gravel picked up at pit (priced per ton)

Bid #8:  Base 3 compaction gravel picked up at pit (priced per ton)

All work to be completed by September 15, 2014.  Failure to meet the deadline will result in a $200 per day penalty until work is completed.  To obtain bid forms, specifications and locations of road work, please contact the clerk/treasurer’s office at 715-234-8087 or view online at townofricelake.com.  Direct all other inquiries to Town Chairman, Tom Fankhauser, at 715-296-6258.  Bids should be submitted on town forms in a sealed envelope with the BID # and DESCRIPTION written on the outside and mailed to:  Town of Rice Lake, 1830 Macauley Ave., Rice Lake, WI  54868.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF BIDS:   7:00 PM, MONDAY, MAY 12, 2014. Bids will be opened at the regular monthly board meeting scheduled for that date and time.  Bids must include certificate of insurance for liability and workers compensation, along with the town’s safety training survey.  The Town of Rice Lake reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid proposal deemed most advantageous.

INVITATION TO BID

TOWN OF RICE LAKE, BARRON COUNTY

            The Town of Rice Lake, Barron County, is accepting sealed bids for the reconstruction of one mile of 21 ½ St. between 21st Avenue and 22nd Avenue.

THIS IS A LRIP PROJECT (Click her for Bid Specs & Forms)

            Work to be provided will consist of shaping road base and applying 2 ½ inches of warm mix asphalt.  Bids will be accepted until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Town of Rice Lake Municipal Building, 1830 Macauley Ave., Rice Lake, WI  54868.

            “The bidder’s attention is called to the fact that this project is subject to a prevailing wage rate determination which has been issued by the State of Wisconsin and that the prevailing wage rates and hours of labor set forth in this determination shall be applicable to this project.”
